March 7 & 8, 2015

We will gather at The Garage Photographic

10540 124 Street Northwest, Edmonton, AB

There comes a time when we realize that life is more than our to-do lists and busy lives. We want something more. We crave something more. We need something more: something bigger than ourselves yet within ourselves. Sometimes we don’t know where to start.

SHIFT invites you to start here!

Slip into an atmosphere where it’s ok to dip your toes in the sand, swing on a swing and color on the tables! Our primary focus is to help you leave your everyday life at the door and shift closer to what makes you happy. Let us nourish you with good food, soulful conversations and creative processes. Re-discover what happiness means to you and explore ways to welcome more happiness, more joy and more play into your daily life.

This is a hands-on event with lots of room for creativity, connection and play. These seven heart centered souls will take you on a SHIFT journey to help shine light and awareness on happiness & joy.

Let’s look at what’s in store!

Stealing Joy – A Lesson in Joy Awareness
Melsha Shea of MelshaShea.com:
Melsha3-87Not a lot of people set out to intentionally steal your joy. It was a wake up call when Melsha realized she was doing just that during one of the darkest moments of her life; stealing people’s joy and in turn, robbing herself of her own joy. We’ll dive into the year long search for joy that took Melsha down a path she never expected to go. We’ll adventure into some activities to help build your awareness around more joy, more happiness and more play in your everyday life. MelshaShea.com/Melsha-Shea

Joy Multiplied
Ashley Green of Love Letters 2 Strangers:
Do we really need to know someone to be able to respect, appreciate and show love to them? I don’t think so. Join Ashley Green as she shares her story about how giving to strangers changed her perception of living joyfully. The small act of love letters has the potential for greatness. Her hope is that, if nothing else, this simple project reminds you to look for, seek out and celebrate every opportunity to make a positive impact in someone’s life. This session will bring out your creativity as you create your own joy to share with others. MelshaShea.com/Ashley-Green

Writing Delight
Lori-Ann Claerhout of LoriClaerhout.com:
Where do you follow your whims? Or. . . do you feel the pull of interesting, potentially joy-filled impulse and talk yourself out of it? Through writing and other exercises that access the deepest spaces of your intuition, we will explore your more playful side. On writing: picture freedom in getting the words out. And allow fear to take a back seat while we frolic through the English language. On whim-following: picture ease, confidence, and delight. We may just hatch a few unexpected plans in the process! You will leave with at least three tools for accessing what wants to be found out and written down. And, really, what wants to surface is pure love. MelshaShea.com/Lori-Claerhout

Happy Hormones, Happy Life!
Marie Tower of Marie Tower Nutrition:
The feelings we experience are nothing more than chemical reactions taking place inside our bodies. Each and every emotion we experience is the result of the release of certain hormones inside our bodies. Some hormones are responsible for making us feel good, some are responsible for making us feel bad while others are responsible for the feelings we get when we fall in love.  How do we help create more of the hormones that can help us fall in love with our life so we can find more happiness, joy and love in the little things, each day?  Marie will show you how. Malas, Meditation & Mantras: Opening Yourself To More
Bri Waldeck of Precious Malas:
Meditation can open a whole new world for you! Bri will share her personal story of hitting rock bottom and how making malas and meditating changed her life in a profound way that led her to much joy and happiness. We’ll dive into the particulars of changes in brain chemistry when meditation practices are followed, why mala beads are a fantastic tool to keep your mind focused during meditation, why gemstones rock and choosing a mantra. The fun doesn’t stop there – Bri will guide us as we set intentions, cleanse and create our own custom malas. You’ll leave this session with a custom mala – created & made by you, a joy focused mantra and the knowledge to add meditation practices to your daily life. MelshaShea.com/Bri-Waldeck

Embrace Your Essence
Linda Patterson of Vision Icon Photographic:
We judge ourselves. A lot. We judge ourselves in ways that we would never think of judging others yet we inflict this pain on ourselves all too often. When you look into the eyes of another you see beyond the imperfections to where the essence shines brightly. We’ll explore celebrating our perceived imperfections. Those wrinkles, the extra 10lbs, the skinny legs, the scars and the age spots are the roadmaps to our soul; the evidence of the life we have lived so far. We’re going to celebrate it and embrace it. MelshaShea.com/Linda-Patterson

Love Notes To Myself
Jenn Garman of Jenn Garman Mixed Media:
We’re about to get creative with Jenn Garman and you don’t have to be a pro to get creative yourself! Building on some of the surprises of the morning (we can’t tell you everything!) you’ll leave this session with stunning, soulful art journal pages – created by you! We’ll explore crafting a visual representation of our emotions & feelings using various art supplies and media, create mixed media layers and be introduced to unique journaling techniques, tips and tricks. We’re also going to learn the psychology behind colors and layout – yes that’s a thing! MelshaShea.com/Jenn-Garman

We’ve thought of everything! Here’s what will be on hand so all you need to do is show up with an open heart & be ready for your own shift!
